That’s my telegram sound…because this tubey is just in from The Rock Boat 2011. Can’t wait to see more from TRB, but this is karaoke at it’s best. Priceless!
This cover has a very “Indigo Girls” vibe that works nicely with the song. It’s great to see someone appreciating some of Matt’s newer material! You can hear more of Melissa’s music on her facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/melissawhelanmusic).
A to B is available on Matt’s latest EP (the link is in the right sidebar).
Our friend Robin shared this link of a recent review of Matt’s show in Birmingham.
In addition to playing his own material, he also played a Beatles cover: You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away. Hard to go wrong with a Beatles cover, as long as you can deliver, and Matt and the band delivered.
The blogger went to the show as a Joey Ryan fan, but left loving the main act as well (particularly crushing on Chris Miranda, I think).
While searching the Interwebs for bootleg, Liz came across this cover of Honey and thought it different enough to be noteworthy. I agree.
Honestly it’s a testament to how well that song is written. This cover manages to make Honey haunting and heartbreaking…a viewpoint which I never really got before. When you listen to the words within the style of this version, you can feel that crushing love and how hard it is to put yourself out there with someone. I kind of like it.
Matt was busy in Seattle! In addition to his interview on KSPU, he also performed an acoustic set at Silver Platters:
and later that night at The Vera Project

We interrupt your State Lines 2 Tour Bootlegs for this beauty from April, 2010.
This song has been in my head all day. Since I already had it open, I thought I’d share it with everyone.
(For those of you lucky peeps in SLC watching Matt’s show tonight, send us your bootlegs!)

Matt performed a live acoustic set at Best Buy in Union Square today!
Matt added this delightful cover of The Beatles “You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away” to his setlist on opening night of the State Lines Tour Part 2 in Orlando last night.
We Like.
