This is from this past Sunday when I went to see Matt in Richmond. The entire set is up on my youtube channel. I’m so not used to being 17 rows away from the stage, so all the traffic between me and my camera was irksome. But it was cool because it just means that many more people were getting to know Matt’s music, and the audience was totally getting into it.

Matt talked to Pop-break.com about touring with Matchbox Twenty and his new album.
PB: How does this new record stand out from the rest of your catalog?
MH: The new record feels like I’ve matured as a songwriter. The first album and this new record were done with Eric Ross out in California. When we made the first record we had literally just met but with this album we’ve been friends for about four years. We’ve become close friends so it made the recording process much smoother. It’s like we’re an old married couple in the studio; we’re on the same page.
More importantly, check out this picture by Reid Rolls that I hadn’t yet seen:
Radio.com posted this article with some fun information about how the Restless Heart video came to be. Interesting bit of trivia, one of the many girls that appeared was the actress Sarah Hagan who played Millie on Freaks and Geeks. Matt said: “But it’s funny, I just watched Freaks and Geeks… I had never seen it before. It’s good.”
Hey, I just watched that too recently. It *is* good.
Watch the video again and see if you can pick her out:
Matt posted this playlist of his favorite Valentine’s Day type songs, with this intro:
So it’s that time of year again. You either love it or you hate it. I put together a playlist of my favorite (sort of) love songs. None of them have anything to do with roses or heart shaped chocolates or cheesy cards or anything like that. So even if you’re a Valentine’s Day hater, at least you’ll have some killer songs to listen to. Right?
