Find out about Matt and Miley, and a stolen bike…
Thanks to Little Lady Laura for tweeting a picture from the show at Tanner’s Pub in Winter Haven last night, as Matt opened for Tyrone Wells.

Matt will be opening for Tyrone Wells on Sunday night in Winter Haven, FL at Tanner’s Pub. This is an all ages show. Doors open at 4 and the show starts at 5. Tickets are $10.
Matt says this video is old, but to us it’s NEW. And any new Matt Hires video makes us very, very happy!
(Did you hear that, Matt? ANY new video…)
I had the pleasure of seeing Matt last night at Musica in Akron, Ohio. I grew up about 20 minutes from Akron, so it was nice to be in familiar territory again. What wasn’t familiar was Musica…it was my first time there. Matt opened for Five For Fighting, who, contrary to what the name implies, is really just one guy named John Ondrasik. Then you have Bon Jovi, who are a band, but it’s one guy’s name. Confusing. But I digress. Matt gave a great performance, as always. A tight 30 minute set that opened with You Are My Sunshine and ended with State Lines…a few of which he’ll be crossing to get away from the cold to the warmth of his home in Florida.
Anyhow, I hope Matt liked Musica because I liked Musica and would love to see him there again someday soon.
Here’s A to B. Please pardon 1) any shakiness or drifting in the video…I need a tripod b) any long periods of being out of focus…I need a new camera or iii) background noise…because people don’t understand they need to be quiet when Matt is singing.
Thanks to @ericjamestaylor for tweeting this picture of Matt in San Juan Capistrano opening a sold out show for Five For Fighting.

On-Airstreaming.com tweeted a link to this video this morning. There’s no word on the site as to what it is or how it came to be. It’s very clean, lovely video, but with the strings coming in in the background, I can’t tell if it’s live or Memorex. The microphone seems to be on in any case, as it appears to pick up errant atmospheric noise (the sound of him releasing his guitar at the end for instance). Maybe the strings were added in post-production. Or maybe the atmospheric noise was. Either way, I’m happy with new video!
No shows booked at the moment.
