dot-dash-dot-dash-dot-dot…
That’s my telegram sound…because this tubey is just in from The Rock Boat 2011. Can’t wait to see more from TRB, but this is karaoke at it’s best. Priceless!
We interrupt your State Lines 2 Tour Bootlegs for this beauty from April, 2010.
This song has been in my head all day. Since I already had it open, I thought I’d share it with everyone.
(For those of you lucky peeps in SLC watching Matt’s show tonight, send us your bootlegs!)

Matt added this delightful cover of The Beatles “You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away” to his setlist on opening night of the State Lines Tour Part 2 in Orlando last night.

A very nice cover of Tangled Web by mattdunnemusic.
If you like his sound, you might want to check out his
Myspace page where he has an EP for sale.
Matt with Molly Jenson, Florian Ostertag and Philipp Poisel:
With GRO in Denver…I’m not so sure the mic is actually turned on (ref: Bob Matthew’s screaming “Do you need anybody?” is barely audible). But Matt is technically singing and it’s a cover song so it counts.
GRO, Matt Hires, & Crew – Bluebird Theatre Denver, CO – 4/26/10
It’s a bit harder to pick Matt out in this one, recorded on April 30 at El Corazon in Seattle, but when he does appear on screen, it’s a bit closer than the first one. And our friend Maniac was at this show, so I keep watching to see if I’ll catch a glimpse of her dancing on the table in the corner by the stage. It could’ve happened, trust me.
From Norfolk last Sunday (April 11). Two things: I saw Matt two days earlier in DC with some of my EOS sisters and when Matt sang this I was thrilled that I’d have something new for the Matt Covers catalog. In my heart of hearts I knew he was doing it just for me us!
Second, when Matt does the “google” hand-motion, I’m convinced he was watching us walk from the venue back to the car from his cushy bus window …because that’s exactly when the EOS gals were having this conversation about how when one talks about what they “said” online, they charade the “typing fingers”. Shame on you Matt (;
Oh and third: Notice when little Drop quietly shouts “matthires!!” he gives her a little sly smile. What a guy that MATTHIRES!!! is.
So without further ado, here is Matt doing a Chuck Willis cover of a The Band cover of Hang Up My Rock and Roll Shoes. Oh and thank you Liz Lemon for the video.
As Matt is about to embark on a tour with Need To Breathe and Will Hoge, I thought it apropos to post this group cover he did with Tyrone Wells and others. Have a great tour, Matt!!
I think he’s enjoying the stomp/clap but not sure if he knows the words to The Band’s Up On Cripple Creek. Having fun with Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers…
No shows booked at the moment.
